Enterprise Business Software and the Mixed-Up Chameleon Problem
Editor’s Note: This blog post was written by Greg Little, Senior Counselor at Palantir , with Aaron Jaffe, Senior Vice President at Palantir. Over 10 years of implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, I remember one project where the CFO stopped the room cold. It was 11:30 at night during a mock cutover. People were exhausted manually fixing mapping issues that “should” have been automated. The CFO looked up, rubbed his face, and said, “Tell me again why we’re changing everything we do just to keep this system happy?” It was a fair question. From the very first ERP project I ever worked on, the expectation was always the same: fit your processes to the standards defined by the ERP core. Keep the core pristine. Never customize the underlying software. Follow the process exactly as delivered. Don’t deviate. Don’t change anything that might jeopardize upgradeability or introduce delays, cost overruns, or fragility. And to be fair, there were good reasons behind thi
How do I create object types with code?
Is it possible to create object types in code (without asking AI to create object types)? I’m trying to go a step beyond HyperAuto that creates object types and links for a list of SAP tables from the HyperAuto outputs. Users could then use this downstream to ask AIP Chatbots about their ontology/SAP environment. Is there any API that can create an object type similar to: Get Object Type • API Reference • Palantir ? (Also, please add an “API” tag option to this Developer Community. The closest I could find was osdk.) 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic
Feature Request: Dynamic Color Rules for Ontology Properties
It would be very useful to allow dynamic color scaling for ontology properties instead of requiring users to manually define fixed minimum and maximum values. For example, the system could automatically detect the current min/max values of the property and apply the color gradient dynamically. This would make visualizations more scalable, easier to maintain, and adaptable to changing datasets without having to constantly update the configuration manually. Thanks in advance! 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic
Object Type Property Precise Usage identification
Hi team, I have some bloated ontology objects that I am trying to slim the number of properties down. I tried using workflow lineage but it seems like workflow lineage indicates that a property has a usage even if its not directly being used but the object type its on is being used in someway (for example: a function used the object type for other properties and it shows up as having a dependence on this property in workflow lineage). Anyone have any ideas what an effective way would be to identify precisely where a given property of an object is being used? I was thinking of creating a global branch, deleting a property and trying to see what breaks but the last part isnt so easy as well. 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic
Building an Agent-Driven Dashboard with Real-Time Updates in Palantir
Building an Agent-Driven Dashboard with Real-Time Updates in Palantir Post: Hi everyone, I’m working on an application idea in Palantir and would really appreciate some guidance from the community. Use Case: I want to build an application that includes: An AI/agent interface where users can ask questions in natural language A dashboard that dynamically updates based on the agent’s responses Goal: When a user asks a question: The agent interprets the query and retrieves or computes relevant data The dashboard updates automatically to reflect the results (charts, metrics, tables, etc.) The experience feels interactive and real-time , similar to a conversational analytics tool What I’m Trying to Understand: What is the best way to connect an agent (AIP / Ontology-based agent / LLM) with a dashboard in Palantir? How can I trigger dynamic dashboard updates based on agent outputs? Should this
Looking for a WMS-lite in Foundry
I’m looking for a WMS-lite pattern/product in Foundry. Basic needs: SKU/location inventory receipts picks/shipments adjustments simple 3PL/customer portal minimal ontology + Workshop app I’d be willing to pay for something like this if it were installable and minimally configurable. A few Marketplace questions: Are Foundry Products / Marketplace intended to become a place where builders can publish reusable apps/products for other Foundry users? Is there currently a central place to browse available Marketplace products, or is discovery mostly enrollment/org-specific today? If another community member has packaged something useful, is the right sharing path export/import of a Marketplace product file, assuming both sides have the required permissions? Curious if anyone has already built something in this direction. 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic
