Daily Palantir Intelligence Briefing — Thursday, July 9, 2026
Key Development
Palantir Technologies has expanded its agreement with Mexican insurer GNP Seguros, marking a significant deal for the company in the Latin American market. This development highlights Palantir's growing presence in international markets and its ability to secure major contracts outside of the United States.
Contracts & Government
NATO has been exploring defense investments, which could potentially involve Palantir's services, given the company's track record in providing data analytics solutions to government and defense agencies. However, no specific contract awards have been announced.
Product & Platform Updates
There are no significant product or platform updates to report at this time.
Market & Business
Palantir's stock has been experiencing volatility, with some analysts suggesting it as a potential buy despite hitting 52-week lows. The company's CEO, Alex Karp, has been critical of OpenAI and Anthropic, stating that they deliver no value and "steal alpha." However, some experts disagree with Karp's assessment, arguing that these companies do pose a threat to Palantir's business.
Strategic Implications
- Palantir's expansion into international markets, such as Mexico, could lead to increased competition and opportunities for growth, but also poses challenges in navigating different regulatory environments.
- The company's criticism of OpenAI and Anthropic may be seen as a strategic move to differentiate itself in the market, but it also highlights the intense competition in the AI industry.
- As investors and analysts continue to assess Palantir's value proposition, the company must demonstrate its ability to deliver tangible results and justify its market position.
foundry worker + agent proxy architecture: webSocket usage and session management
Since Agent Worker is gradually being phased out, we are considering migrating to Foundry Worker + Agent Proxy. With Foundry Worker + Agent Proxy, WebSockets are used between the Agent and Foundry. However, depending on corporate policies, WebSockets may not be permitted. At the very least, we want to clarify when sessions time out. Could anyone please advise us on this? 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic
Automating chart extracts from Workshop and Contour
Hi everyone, I am looking for some guidance on whether it is possible to automate some of our reporting workload. Currently, it is a highly manual process; we take screenshots of the graphs in Workshop and Contour reports, which go into an external slide deck. I have tried the Notepad App before, but I have not found a way to embed actual charts from Workshop and Contour into it; only data tables and Ontology objects. Has anyone found a way to automatically extract charts from Workshop and Contour? My ideal solution would be getting a chart extract every week via email, but even building a central report/notebook with all the needed charts (where we could manually control if the data update is locked or not) would be a massive improvement over manual screenshots. Thank you so much for your help! 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic
Pivot Table Total with Backed Function
Hello, I’m working on a pivot table using a function-backed. Since Workshop doesn’t provide a built-in way to add a Total row using backed function, I generate it in the function backed. However, unlike with an object-backed, the Total row is treated like any other row. As a result, when I sort the pivot table, the Total row is sorted as well instead of remaining at the bottom. Has anyone run into this issue before? Is there a recommended approach to keep the Total row fixed at the end, even after sorting? Thanks for any advice 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic
Tool calling is broken for Codex with LLM proxies
The LLM proxy for OpenAI models at `/api/v2/llm/proxy/openai/v1` break tool calling in newer version of Code. This matters because the supply chain attacks on TanStack caused certificates to be reused which will eventually cause all users to have their malware detectors triggered and force an upgrade to a version where the certificate signatures match. Below is a full explination of the issue and how I fixed it with a LLM proxy that rewrites the calls locally before sending to AIP The issue was a **shape mismatch** between Codex, the Palantir OpenAI-compatible proxy, and MCP tool routing. Codex sent the MCP server to the model as a **namespace tool** : ```json { “type”: “namespace”, “name”: “mcp__codestrap_local_dev”, “tools”: [ { "type": "function", "name": "palantir_broker" } ] } ``` But the Palantir proxy/model response came back as a plain function call: ```json { “type”: “function_call”, “name”: “palantir_broker”, “arguments”: “{…}”
